Capella University "Voluntarily" Withdraws APA
Accreditation Application!
While it is, more than likely, impossible to find out what exactly happened, we are DELIGHTED to report that according to information posted on the American Psychological Association's (APA) web site that Capella University has "voluntarily withdrawn" their application for accreditation from the APA! While we applaud the APA for any role they may have played in getting Capella to "voluntarily withdraw" their application, we certainly hope that the following FACTS helped in that decision:
- Capella University intentionally hires and retains charlatan's, such as Diane Stottlemyer, who have purchased bogus degrees from known diploma mills such as Lacrosse University.
- Capella University intentionally subjects students to retaliation who rightfully speak out about their incompetently designed and implemented online "course rooms."
- Capella University intentionally employs and supports LIARS as some of their highest ranking administrators and university officials.
- Capella University employs thugs who viciously and intentionally harass others.
- Capella University conducts bogus "research", including but limited their president, Michael Offerman's claims that they "studied" WebCT before subjecting students to it.
- Capella University has had a revolving door of administrators who have run their "School of Psychology" over the years.
- Capella University hires and retains inept liars who can't spell, such as Kurt Linberg, to run some of their other "schools."
- Capella University intentionally violates student rights by refusing to turn over education records as required under the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).
Of course, the above is just a small sampling of the ilk that may be found at this for-profit "school." Let's not forget that Capella University also LOVES to send out endless press releases touting some of their spurious "connections" with the APA. These have included (but may not be limited to):
- "PhD Graduate from Capella University to Present at APA Conference August 10" (August 9, 2006)
- "Capella University's Dr. Nancy A. Piotrowski Named President-Elect of APA Division 50 on Addictions" (July 10, 2006)
- "Online University Receives APA Approval for CPE Courses" (June 27, 2000)
We can't help but wonder if Capella will now issue a press release telling why, after trying for so many YEARS that they've now decided to "voluntarily withdrawn" their APA accreditation application! Don't hold your breath!
We would like to encourage all Capella students who believe they have been misled and lied to regarding this matter to post on the Capella University Sucks Forum. Let the world know about how you may have been deceived!
