Marilee Jones, MIT Admissions Director Should Apply to Capella University

Marilee Jones, the Dean of Admissions at MIT has just resigned because, according to MIT, they can't determine if she holds ANY degrees. If that's the case, then we would like to suggest that she apply for a job with Capella University, which knowingly hires and retains charlatans, such as Marilee Jones, as members of their esteemed "faculty." Not only that, but then Capella University and a member of their "Dream Team" Sir Chrisy the Sissy (H. Christian L'Orange) and all bent out of shape when this fact is brought up during depositions. Of course, Capella's best known charlatan is Diane Stottlemyer who bought and uses bogus degrees from known diploma mills such as "Lacrosse University." Not only that but Stottlemyer's Dean, Kurt Linberg (you know, the one who can't spell) is so stupid that he refers to her using the bogus title of "doctor" when Federal law enforcement agencies are investigating Capella.

Just as disturbing is that Capella University has refused, for the past five months to turn over records demanded as part of the discovery process in one of the lawsuits against them. Many of these records will shed some additional light on the fact that Diane Stottlemyer is a charlatan (along with may other facts concerning the lack of ethics at Capella University). We believe that Capella University; along with their "Dream Team"; their chief shyster and liar, Greg Thom; and his sidekick, senior attorney, Priscilla McNulty will soon be held in contempt of court for obstruction of justice for their ongoing failure to turn over records.

We can only hope that Marilee Jones will find some good company should she decide to apply at Capella University - she would certainly fit in rather nicely with the other charlatans there!

Capella University Advertising Blitz

Yup, as we noted yesterday, every time a real blog posts something about Capella University - the for-profit money-making scam that is currently surrounded by more controversy - Capella bombards the blogosphere with endless amounts of bogus blog "posts" that are nothing more than publicity drivel. If a scam like Capella is so desperate to flood the Internet with their drivel, why would real students want to even bother applying? Oops, we almost forgot, Capella University admits 100% of all applicants to their undergraduate programs! Only bottom-feeders need apply! Oh well. . .

Capella University is so desperate to suck in more sales to unsuspecting future "learners" that the blogoshpere is practically clogged with all of their thinly-masked advertisements that masquerade as blog entries. As soon as a genuine post about the Capella University scam appears on a real blog, the Internet is then flooded with more of Capella's PR garbage.

Capella is so hungry for sales that they post press releases (which numerous "blogs" suddenly pick up) that every time one of their so-called faculty members gets a hangnail, Capella issues a press release (i.e., advertisement). These bogus blog posts always mention that Capella University has X number of "learners" and is a "fully accredited online university." What a joke.

As we've noted so many times in the past, caveat emptor, buyer beware!

Capella University Continues to Give Preference to Loan Company!

In a bold and utterly arrogant act of defiance, Capella University continues to give Student Loan Xpress, the student loan company accused of giving kickbacks to Timothy Lehmann, Capella's Director of Financial Aid, preferential treatment! While the national news media has been reporting, for more than a week, that Student Loan Xpress asked for preferential placement on University's "Recommended Lenders Lists", and Capella's idiot CEO, Steve Shank even had that audacity to tell Minnesota's Pioneer Press that "We take the issue raised by the New York Attorney General seriously and remain committed to the highest standards of quality and integrity," Capella University continues to give Student Loan Xpress red-carpet treatment by allowing them to remain at the very top of two of their recommended lists! That's right, a full-week after the New York times blew the cover off of this atrocity, Capella essentially gives the proverbial finger to the rest of the world!

Perhaps for the first time, Shank has finally revealed that his own gross lack of ethics clearly serves as a model for the seemingly endless ability of other Capella officials to lie (including but not limited to: Michael Offerman, Oaf and President; Greg Thom, Chief Shyster, Priscilla McNulty "Senior Counsel", Karen Viechnicki, Provost; Kurt Linberg, Dean and Spelling Champ; et al), stems from his own lack of integrity.

Steve Shank is obviously as much of a blithering idiot as the others he lets do most of the dirty work for Capella. For Shank to state that Tonka University (Shank was once CEO for Tonka Toys) "remain[s] committed to the highest standards of quality and integrity" regarding this latest scandal and yet openly defies all sense of ethics by allowing Student Loan Xpress to remain at the very top of Capella's "Recommended Lender Lists" is nothing less than an outrage!

Capella University Official Accepts Kickbacks!

Why doesn't it surprise us that one of Capella University's unethical officials has just been placed on leave for accepting kickbacks from a student loan company? With all of the other blatantly unethical and dishonest thugs employed by the University, nothing surprises us any more. The good thing is that this latest scam has placed a spotlight on Capella University by the national news media - it's about time!

We strongly encourage the media to start digging deeper into the sleazy and unethical practices of Capella officials. For example, we've long reported on the lies told by: Michael Offerman, President; Greg Thom, Chief Shyster; Karen Viechnicki, Provost; Kurt Linberg, Dean; and, of course, Diane Stottlemyer - the Capella instructor and charlatan who buys and uses bogus degrees from diploma mills. Of course, this is only the "short list" many more may be found on the Crapella University site.

We also encourage the media to examine the lawsuits that have been filed against Capella University including those in which Capella discriminates and retaliates against those with disabilities and blatantly violates the First Amendment rights of those who speak out about the gross lack of ethics and integrity at this for-profit money-making scam.

Need we also mention the ongoing investigations into Capella University by the United States Department of Education (USDE), Office of the Inspector General for apparently stealing approximately $500,000 from American taxpayers? Then there are the complaints (we have reason to believe that there may be more than one) against Capella University by the USDE Family Policy Compliance Office, another Federal law enforcement agency, for refusing to turn records over to the students they abuse as required by the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).

We also have reason to believe that there is more than one complaint against Capella University with their accreditation agency - the Higher Learning Commission of the The Higher Learning Commission. Need we continue?
