Another Dishonest Capella University Instructor Caught with his Pants Down!

The Associated Press has just released an article about a Capella University instructor, Richard Costello, "was stripped of his title (as the information technology director for he North Carolina State Utilities Commission)" for moonlighting on state time and resources to "teach" at Capella University (and a couple of other "schools"). Somehow, this isn't surprising since Capella University's head cheerleader, Shawn Ambrose, has done similar things. We've long reported that Ambrose has used the computers at Lac Courte Oreilles Ojibwa Community College, to visit this and other Capella Sucks sites.

At least the North Carolina State Utilities Commission has the integrity to strip Costello of his title. Based upon the other clowns that Capella University employs, we're sure that they must be very proud of Costello's apparent dishonesty - after all, he fits right in with so many others!

Capella University's Vickie Cook just won't go away. . .just like a chronic case of diarrhea

But this time, someone with quite a bit of intelligence has blogged about what a bogus article Vickie Cook's rags-to-riches, touchy-feely "Walmart to College Dean" work of PR it really is! Specifically, the blogger states:

"This is plainly a planted article. Those marketers at online "universities" are certainly getting clever! This feel-good, rags-to-riches story about getting a degree at Capella "University" just happens to be located among ads for the usual gang of online "universities" ... funny how that happens."

It's always great to know that there are intelligent bloggers out there!

Some things never change at Capella University: Technical Glitches and Wrong Textbooks

Capella University's insistent bombardment of blog spittle has already lead Capella University Sucks to create parodies of their thinly veiled marketing blitz but they can’t control everything! For example, a very interesting blog that was created by a new Capella student (oops, make that LEARNER) has just reported her first day at Capella. Somehow, nothing she mentions surprised us! Let’s take a look at the problems she experienced (of course, we’ve already made a copy in case Capella University tries to censor her blog) on July 7, 2006:
  • 2:15 A.M. -- Student stayed up late to gain access to class. While the online course room was “up,” she couldn’t log on.
  • 8:30 A.M. -- Still can’t access class
  • 10:00 A.M. -- Tries again, no luck. Calls Capella’s (useless) tech support and is told there “are some tech difficulties”
  • 5:00 P.M. -- Finally able to log on (oh well).
Then, there’s the little problem with the textbook (sounds familiar to us) – Capella uses a 1995 edition of a textbook even though a 2006 version is available (and the old version is not)

We’ve got to admit, it looks like nothing ever changes at Capella University!
