Capella University has a nasty habit of creating its own
news stories designed to lure unsuspecting customers into their lair. They’ve reached a new low; however, with their latest one – “Capella University Wins Top Award for Innovation in Distance Education” which, on the surface, appears to tout one of their recently acquired “awards.” What their deceitful press release fails to state is that the awarding organization, National University Telecommunications Network (NUTN), is sponsored by (can you guess?) none other than Capella University and WebCT! Gosh, isn’t that convenient?
Not only are
Capella University and WebCT are “Platinum Sponsors” of NUTN (yes, that a LOT of ‘nutn!) but Capella also happens to be a “Diamond Sponsor.” Nothing like patting themselves on the back. Oh well, this is just another example of the unethical behavior that’s so prevalent at Capella University.
Least we forget, Kurt Linberg, the illustrious Dean of Capella’s School of Business and Technology, who is also a key figure in the current lawsuit against Capella for their bigoted treatment of students,
serves on NUTN’s board. Surprised? We’re not! Caveat Emptor!
